A sense of community, where has it gone? We seem to have lost our neighbours and community that we once relied on to help raise our children. I see it every day through my business. The sad fact is my business is built on the loss of the family unit and community. My company finds us filling in as replacement to grandma, mom and daughter. As a "daughter" we help seniors living in different cities from their children. As a "Grandma/Mom" we help new parents raising their children on their own because parents are senior, ill or they live miles to provinces apart. I love my job and wouldn't change it for the world. I feel very fortunate to be able to help enrich peoples lives. Each and every day I am thankful to be in a position to be able to help these families, my clients are amazing and become our extended family. I have always believed in the quote " It takes a village to raise a child." I like to think I am part of that village. Today I ask you to be part of that village as well. Turn to your neighbour, or that senior you see struggling, or the new mom who has a crying child in her arms. Take a minute and give them a hand or smile because that small gesture could change their whole day.
